Video Remote Interpreting (VRI)

Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) is a form of sign language interpreting that allows people who use sign language to communicate with a hearing person, at the same site, via videoconferencing, in replace of live, on-site interpreting.

VRI is an effective way to communicate when:

● Greater convenience for all parties is priority

● An emergency requires an interpreter ASAP

● A live, in-person interpreter is not readily available (such as in rural locations, etc.)
